I have a 1984 Polaris Indy Trail that I have broken the recoil on. I need to know if this is an easy fix or if it will require a lot of work. I am trying to find out if this is something that I can fix myself or if I need to take it to a mechanic. Any help??

The recoil can be a pain you just have to remember how it goes back together. You can get a exploded veiw of it from a fiche chart. It is probably just wore out and needs the guts replaced. Just take the bolts off and take a look at it. While you are at it change the rope. Have any questions let me know. I have done this many times on older sleds.

If you have a shop close to you, just unbolt it and let them do it. If you are good with tools it's a trial and error to learn how to do it. They really aren't that hard to do.
