I just called to get our gas and diesel tanks filled.
Gas price per gallon without taxes $3.21
Gas price per gallon with taxes $3.82
That is 61 cents every gallon to our inefficient, wasteful, inept government! What a friggin' rip-off!

Michigan gets 6%, so on $3.21 a gallon, Michigan gets 19.26 cents per gallon. So that leaves the federal government getting 41.74 cents per gallon!

Michigan wants more cause the tax increase they slapped on a gallon a few years back isn't keeping up with road repairs. LMAO! More like it's being pilfered for something else and we need more tax money to make up for the pilferage.

Sorry, but the federal tax is 18.4 cents per gallon of gasoline, and 24.4 cents for diesel.
I think someone is using 'rack price' of raw fuel... this does not include additives or transport from the depot.

I bet 20% of the tax is filtered into non road use for things like bike trails, parks, and non road transit.

Hey I am only posting what it was to fill our tanks....the base price was $3.21 a gallon. No delivery charge, used only in our mowers but is not qualified for farm and off road use for some friggin reason that only the government understands. And the total per gallon is $3.82 and this is what it shows
Fed'l gas
State MUSTFA fee
Mich sales tax
Mich gas excise tax
Regulatory comp
