Bush tried to curb it in 2003 (like you didn't know that) and it was stopped by all the dem's in congress. the repubs didn't have enuf votes to get it done it so it died at the hands of people like barney frank. Then McCain tried in 2005 (like you didn't know that). No one listened. As long as people who couldn't afford homes where still getting them, the dem's stopped threatening auditors and trying to make the pubs look insensitive.

The same reason Clinton supported it for 8 yrs. To make sure people who couldn't afford it had a house to live. Let's not forget the multi million dollar homes that some thought they were going to buy, pay the interest on for a few years, than sell at a big profit when home prices were going to the moon, only to get screwed when the price went down and they were stuck with a mortgage more than what the house was worth. When you gamble and lose.........well, ya lose! Why bail em out?? And where is accountability in this whole mess?............Raines, Bernacki, Chris Dodd, and the rest of them. Why does no one get the ax?? Anyone involved in the management of FM,FM, or government financing in the past 15 yrs. outta be sh!t canned.
