I saw you running down a race course with that lite weight F6 and the heavy weight yams seemed to do ok against it.

Wasn't an apex out there Rick, just the lightweight nytro's and phazers yam built cause the apex was too heavy for some riders in their preferred riding conditions

i've noticed all the manufactures are now afraid to have their 600 class sleds compared to any Yams. the Nytro is so far out of their league, and the Apex is in space.

will Yamaha ever lose at the soo again?

lol...I see Yam's got you convinced the Apex and Nytro are 600 class sleds?

I think they are all fine with having their 600s compared to Yam's 600 class sled, the Vector.

Ya the Phazer with the 80 hp engine and about the same wt as the F6.

They should give smokers a head start or let 'em run 800s in da 6 class. Overweight and Obama supporters should get an extra lap. Just like they do in age groups, or allow large displacement yams to run against the ding dangers. Guys like Mike that mod engine displacement, clutch kits, and all that should be able to compete in the fan class just to be fair.

Nah, I don't think Doo was shooting for something to go against the Apex as the 800r takes care of that. It makes sense for them to target the market where the Nytro is. IMHO.

I'm not sure why the Etec would have trouble with the Vector? It's got 10 more HP than Doo's old 600 carb which was faster than the Vector in Amsnow's shootout.

The very same shoot out that you talk about the vector being slower than an ss 500 is the same shoot out...that the apex ltx beat the 800R renegade. If the 800 r is 100 lbs lighter it should absolutley smoke the apex...also the 800r is 152 HP, apex is 149. so why does the apex beat it???

I have ridden the new vectors and apex's...and they ride and handle just fine...the nytro was different...but not bad.

That means, when translated to the man version of english, that ya ride like a puss. There is nothing "fine" about the ride or handling of a apex if you use more then half throttle and/or there are bumps bigger then 6". Castle racing just came out with a winter riding skirt for gals just like you

Yeah we know...you're mr sno pro ...have you ridden an 08 or newer apex??? believe it or not, big difference.

Come on now, don't change the subject. We were talking 6 hundos here. But, if you'd like a response on the 800 comparison we can go there too, but you probably won't like that either.

1) I think it is commonly accepted that many Doos need some tuning out of the box.
2) It is commonly known that the shorty windshield scrubs a couple mph off the top (Amsnow even confirmed in their latest issue)
3) This is the one you won't like, but you went there: The 800r handled "much" better and they got almost identical fuel economy.

Oh, and they wrote, "the high point of the Apex LTX is its comfortable seat and the engine." lol...Lot more to a sled than a comfy seat and strong engine.
