I stand corrected. That is when it became a "state" not purchased. Either way that was not my point. 1959 was not that long ago and we were still adding states to my country.
If I was to rephrase it as to say 1959 was when Hawaii became a state blah blah blah would you feel better about yourself?
Nevermind, I don't really care.

Can bush as prez have power to force the congress to take his concerns under discussion?....could have johhnymac and other concerned congressfolks of both parties forced their concerns into a house and senate debate irregardless of constitutional protocol?...what yer sayin Mc is it's bushes fault cause the constitution forbids the administrators to dictate what congrees acts on

that is something only that little fella knows about - but the good news is he can't get any more stupid.
My 6 yr old was askin me what that (7 more states) was all about and I had to tell him not to pay any attention to the funny man on the TV for he knows not of what he says.
He asked if he was joking.
I replied, I hope so for your sake.
