Water is clean and run through a non stop charcoal filter and the air pump is on most of the time. They got feed twice a day.
Anyone have a educated guess?
Is your tank cycled? Takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks for beneficial bacteria to grow. Dumping 10 fish in only 20 gallons, your filter would not keep up unless properly cycled.
Are you on city water? There are additives to remove chlorine and chloromaine.
Unless you have a great filter or really small fish, 10 are probably to many for your 20 gallon tank.
Where did you by the fish from? Crappy places like wallymart and the pet chains usually have substandard, sick fish.
About as educated as I can get on the subject....wait no, I know more..

Also, when bringing new fish home, leave em in the bag for a couple hours to let the water temps adjust. Shock will kill em quick.
Very good advice Freddy on everything.... Forgot one part. Leave them in the bag, but make sure the bag is in the tank water so the temps can adjust.
My brother has a couple of salt water tanks. You want to talk about picky freakin fish....

We had these fish for a couple months before they all went belly up.
Water temp is at 73 degrees. Figuring some sort of virus or bacteria got in there somehow.
The fish were about 1.25 inches long, just little ones. And why would they live that long then die? I dunno.

How often did you change the water?
Did you just clean your filter?
One fish dying without being removed can set off a nitrate spike that can kill them off.
